Oak Cottage was built in 1932 and is situated in the village of Abermule, between Montgomery and Newtown in Mid Wales. This two bedroomed, single storey cottage has been refurbished and the layout altered to maximise room space to make them cosy and yet practical.

The varied countryside is beautiful and fun to explore. Why not get a different angle of the river and pop a Kayak in at Kingfisher View and see the river from the river! Fishing is free on the park. There is also fishing available on the Montgomeryshire Canal. Fast water fishing includes Trout and Salmon and there are Grayling, Chubb and other coarse fish.
- Walking, cycling
The diverse countryside offers a fantastic playground for cyclists and a true paradise for walkers. The Park provides excellent access to the Montgomeryshire Canal towpath, a perfect route for walking, cycling, and a haven for dog owners looking to explore nature at a leisurely pace.
- Towns and culture
From our convenient location, you can easily visit the surrounding market towns of Llanidloes, Welshpool and Montgomery, and the historic towns of Machynlleth and Ludlow, with plenty of attractions, castles, reservoirs and beautiful views on the way!
- An hour away from the Welsh coast
The Welsh coast is an hour’s drive away, so you can enjoy Aberystwyth, Aberdovey or Borth, with stunning scenery en route. With convenient access to the North and Midlands, Smithy Park is handy for you to get away from it all.
