Fishing At Smithy Park

Smithy Park is a special place where the River Mule meets the River Severn, and you can relax in your own ‘home from home’ amongst mature trees and shrubs in a garden like setting. Fishing is free on the park.

You can find a whole range of fish in the 2 rivers from Trout, Pike, Barble, Chubb, Perch, Grayling and Roach. We have a number of very keen and expert fly fishermen on Park, which is one of the reasons they bought a Holiday Home here, as the Severn is ideally suited to fly fishing, and some of the touring pitches also back onto the river!

Your Nearest Fishing Tackle Shops are:
  • The Angling Bait Company, Trewern – Tel: 01588 680 008
  • Coed-Y-Dinas, Welshpool – Tel: 01938 555545, who stock an extensive range of equipment for coarse, river, fly & sea fishing, along with a full range of ground bait, maggots, pellets boilies and session packs, mackerel feathers, spinners, dry flies, wet flies, salmon and pike lures.

You will notice that we call the entrance to the river Kingfisher View, yes this is because there are Kingfishers on the river, as well as a host of other birds including Dippers, Ducks, Herons and Gooseanders.
